What I do at UCL

I am an undergraduate student in the Engineering Faculty. In English, I study full time at UCL in the Electronic & Electrical Engineering Department, and I don’t have a degree yet - so, as of yet, no letters after my name. I am currently in my second year, and believe myself to be doing reasonably.

I help run some of the PAL sessions for younger students in our department, helping explain stuff to them that they may be struggling with. I also do UCAS guiding, which means talking prospective students around the department on tours. It’s all good fun.

Apart from that mentioned above, I attend roughly 15 hours of lectures a week (currently) - it was about 30 last year.

Most lunch times we either hit Café Fresco on Tottenham Court Road, or the Gallery in ULU (University of London Union) - food is reasonable good, and well cheap too.

Working for UCL

For my summer internship 2009, I am working with Dr John Mitchell on an optical network system. UCL is known for its optical research, and I am proud to be involved, all be it only in a small way. More about the internship can be found here, at Internship 09 page.
