Coffee, Films & Food

So after meeting Dan there was just enough time to grab the yogurt from my lunch box and head back to meet Dave. Dave arrived early and waited while I finished my late lunch. We went into my office to print the tickets end map to the event location (Logan Hall, IOE) and we set off outside once again in search of Logan Hall.

We arrived early, skipped the long queue by going via the non-student queue (as Dave is no longer a student) and got ourselves a drink at the bar. Dave went to the toilet and upon his return noticed that seating had started for UCL’s special screening of The PhD Movie. We went in quite early, and managed to secure good seats. We passed the 20 or so minutes checking the girls in the audience and then it started.

The film was great. The plot was realistic though enlivened slightly for comic effect. It was funny. It was clever. We come out of the large theatre hall impressed and with a feeling of having had one’s monies worth.

After Dave and I walked to Pizza Express at Euston and had a filling meal before walking it off on a walk to the Haagen Dazs parlor on Leicester Square. Finally we begun a walk to the underground station where we parted ways.

I am on a District Line train now. I had a good day!

Midnight In Paris

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

So tonight a few of us go to see the new Woody Allen film, Midnight in Paris. It’s a film about an author who sees the best years of Paris in the 1920s. I shant say more through risk of spoiling it, but it is a great film. Recommended. A few beers after with Lorenzo, Dan, Teddy and Gul. Lorenzo disappears shortly after Gul leaves. Dan, Teddy and I enjoy some lush Ice Cream at the Häagen-Dazs place on Leicester Square. Flying stop at Lauren’s on the way home.
